Hydroelastic behaviour and analysis of marine structures

The numerical predictions of the hydroelasticity floating bodies with and without forward speed are presented using a direct time domain approximation. Boundary-Integral Equation Method (BIEM) three-dimensional transient free surface Green function Neumman-Kelvin approximation is used for solution hydrodynamic part solved as impulsive velocity potential whilst Euler-Bernoulli beam approach structural analysis analytically defined modeshapes. parts then fully coupled through modal hydroelastic problem. A stiff structure studied assuming that contributions rigid body modes much bigger than elastic modes. rectangular barge zero Wigley hull form analyses comparisons present ITU-WAVE results response amplitude operator, bending moment, shear force etc. show satisfactory agreement existing experimental results.
